    Under Arizona law, the operators of boats can have no more than a .08 BAC. During many months of the year, Arizona police use “saturation patrols” and checkpoints to monitor the blood alcohol content of boaters. Officers in saturation patrols or stationed at OUI checkpoints will run tests on boaters to ensure that they are not over the legal limit.

    If you are convicted of an OUI, the punishments could be serious. Some of the most common include:

    • Fines of up to $2,100
    • Probation
    • Jail time of up to six months for a first offense

    These punishments can increase if other prerequisites are present, such as a BAC of .15 or a prior conviction.
